The History of Dolly's Building
It's hard to say how long the building has been standing, but the map in the second slide dates from somewhere between 1837 and 1842, showing that a structure was already there!
Liscannor has an industrial past and is mostly famous for the production of Liscannor Stone, a type of flagstone with unique fossilised patterns.
The quarries around Liscannor have been operating at least since the 19th century. This stone was used for paving, building, and roofing and was exported through Liscannor harbour both locally and internationally.
The industrial past of the area is reflected in many of the interior choices at Dolly's. We can't wait to show you more as we get closer to our finish.
