Meet our Christmas Creatives

The West Seaweed Press

Claire started pressing seaweed foraged from local shores in Lahinch in 2021 and was instantly hooked. The West Seaweed Press was created a year later, and offers cards and original artworks featuring pressed seaweed. Each piece of seaweed is meticulously foraged, then arranged onto archival quality acid-free watercolour parchment. It is hand-pressed over a number of weeks, until completely dried and fused with the paper. This creates an original pressed piece of art as bespoke and unique as the next.

Melt Jewellery

Melt Jewellery by Nina Philips creates handmade, unique pieces from up-cycled, thrifted beads. Every design is different or is part of a limited addition. Nina Philips, the creator and owner of Melt mainly works with semi- precious stones, pearls, glass and ceramic. She strives to create pieces that make people feel like they’re wearing something uniquely beautiful and handmade while at the same time countering our fast moving consumer society and throw away culture.

Woven Motion
Joan Harold of Woven Motion creates handmade textile crafts from origin to completion. These range from handmade knitted characters to bags and fabric items. Joan designs her own fabric based on the flora of The Burren and uses this fabric and end of line / remnant fabric for her bags. Her current fabric design focuses of the gentian, a flower synonymous with North Clare.
Everything is created at her home craft space in Kilfenora.
Finnegans Pottery

Alena moved from France to Ireland five years ago and discovered her passion for ceramics. Working primarily with stoneware, she creates functional yet beautiful pieces designed to bring joy and warmth into everyday spaces. Her favourite creations include flower vases and jars — though her inspirations evolve with the seasons. Each piece she makes is a unique blend of artistry and practicality, crafted with care and intention.

Gentian Jewellery

Emma, the creative force behind Gentian Jewellery, handcrafts unique silver jewelry from her studio in Liscannor, Co. Clare. With a background in silver work for instrument making, she brings precision and artistry to every piece she creates. Inspired by the rugged coastline and breathtaking landscapes of Ireland’s West Coast.
